Birthday Staycation

For my 29th birthday instead of going somewhere far away we decided to spend the weekend in Detroit. We booked a room at the Greenfield Inn or “the pink hotel” as we call it. We visited the Holocaust Memorial Center which was really moving. We also did a bit of shopping. We had dinner on my birthday at the Hard Rock Cafe in downtown Detroit. The next night Pat took us to game 1 in the Red Wings first round playoff series against the Anaheim Ducks. It was a really close game, but the Wings prevailed. On Sunday Pat joined us and we went to see the Star Trek experience at the Detroit Science Center. Overall it was an extremely fun weekend.
